What do we make available to the children in our care?
Children are welcome to attend nursery from 3 months to five years.
Babies – 3 months to 2 years
Particular attention has been given to the provision for babies. We believe that it is important to liaise with parents and carers to develop a care plan that provides both emotional and physical care for your child. We have created special quiet areas to ease your child to sleep and provide natural materials that stimulate and encourage learning. We give babies opportunities to play and explore paint, sand, water and malleable materials. We ensure that all the babies receive lots of affection and cuddles which will enable them to develop confidence and trust in those adults around them. Our garden has recently been redesigned to ensure that babies can access all areas, we have a covered outdoor play area and a unique rubberised ‘bark’ safety surface and a shaded area to protect babies from the sun. We have a ‘mulch pit’ so that your child can safely practice their walking and balancing and benefit from fresh air every day.
Toddlers - 2 to 3 years
Children of this age need opportunities to explore, discover and find out how things work, while also being able to express themselves freely. That is why we provide toddlers in our care with a full range of indoor and outdoor activities including: sand, water, paint, malleable/mark making materials, dressing up, songs, stories and much more to aid their development. We can assure you that your child will have every opportunity to experience new and exciting play activities while being supported by caring adults.
Pre-school - 3 to 5 years
Our pre-school children are encouraged to develop their natural curiosity, to discover their own talents, become more confident, independent and most importantly enjoy learning. The children are encouraged to explore and experiment and choose for themselves from the wide variety of equipment available to them. We encourage the children to be active participants in their own learning and give them every opportunity to discuss their own ideas and thoughts. The resources available to children in the Pre-school nursery reflect the individual interests of the children and these will include sand, water, paint, glue, malleable/mark making materials, role play materials, computer and ICT access, music etc. We also engage in locally developed programmes that support the physical and intellectual development of the children
